Amaya Doolittle is a Junior at Independence high school this is her second year in broadcast journalism. She is from Arkansas, however, coming from a military family she moves around a lot. Amaya says her favorite classes are journalism and creative writing. She also says she does not have any favorite teachers. She says this is because she likes all her teachers equally. Amaya takes journalism because it is the field she wants to study in college and the career she wants to have in the future. 

Outside of journalism Amaya is in the Black Student Union, a club here at Indy; she also started her own club, the broadcasting and film club, with her twin sister Anaya. Amaya also enjoyed playing sports when she was younger like Soccer and Volleyball. However, knee injuries have kept her from playing in recent times. She also enjoys watching basketball, especially the Los Angeles Lakers. She enjoys the Lakers because of Lebron James. She really likes watching him in his old age. She also likes to write; poems and short stories, specifically, are what she enjoys to write the most.
