Ruhi decided to take broadcast journalism because she took intro to journalism in her freshman year and thought it was really interesting. She wanted to learn more about the subject and participate in different forms of broadcasting like the morning news, social media, and the newspaper. Ruhi enjoys the school spirit at Independence and thinks it creates a more fun environment for students.

 Outside of school she likes to play soccer and used to play for the high school team and also enjoys dancing, traveling, and listening to music. She has traveled to Europe before and would love to visit Spain because of how scenic it is. Her favorite type of music to listen to is rap and R&B but appreciates all genres. When asked what her dream job would be, she said ¨I want to become a psychologist because I like talking to people and helping them.¨
