“Love Alarm”- a story of an exciting technology that enables people to discover love.
“Love Alarm” is a story that revolves around a dating app with an exciting premise. It sets up in a consistent rhythm as it begins to explore its central cast of characters. It asks reasonably deep questions about the advantages and disadvantages of our digital era while continuing to develop a couple of intertwined love triangles in the fold.
Central to all this drama is a fantastic dating application called Love Alarm 2.0, which notifies you when someone within a 10 meters radius loves you. It includes all of Korea caught up in the feeling of receiving those small notifications. Central to this is Kim Jojo, a high school student. Jojo is an empathetic girl and enjoys being around those who care for her. She was happy with her boyfriend, II Sik but a new boy Sun-Oh, who has just come back from two years doing modeling in the U.S., arrives at school and starts a messy melodrama.
The show gives its main characters strong backstories right from the beginning. Backstories are very important as they help viewers to get to know the characters better. They are essential in the story to tell the important information about the main character. Backstories also reveal important events happened in the main character’s life, how he/she became who they are in the show. Backstories are very important to reveal the important information about the main characters of the story.
Cinematography is another important aspect that is very important to affect the audience visually. They did an amazing job of cinematography in this show. Viewers can feel the environment because it almost feels like it is 3D. I think the cinematography for this show is my favorite thing about the show. Some of the visual clues, including twinkling indicators and elusive color changes, are nicely performed and certainly add a fantastical element to the series.
“Love Alarm” is no different than any other classic romantic drama, but its story of presenting a new technology is very different from other Korean dramas. The show is a romantically pleasing Korean drama. The protective and imperfect nature of Sun-Oh makes him a tough protagonist to warm up alongside Kim Jojo. OSTs (Original Song Track) are very important when it comes to watching any drama and that’s what binds all things together. This show has a very good soundtrack: every song on the soundtrack can easily get stuck in viewers head.
The romance in this drama is quite typical with the plot surrounding a poor girl who falls in love with a rich guy. I personally love these kinds of romances but something about it felt a little different to me, even though it was pretty standard. The personality between Sun-Oh and his friend is completely different from one another. They put a lot of effort into their characters to put a lot of emotion into their characters just to show the ups and down of their personalities.
Netflix announced the news of returning “Love Alarm” for Season 2 in 2020 but because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the release date was pushed back to 2021. After an almost two years delay, “Love Alarm’s” season 2 has finally been released on March 12, 2021. Even though the ending of season one was disappointingly heartbreaking, I was eagerly waiting for season 2, and now that I have binge-watched season 2, I’m dying for season 3, but sadly I don’t think there would be season 3 because this season seemed really final.
