Madison Cooke, a senior at Independence High School, will continue her academic and athletic career at Roanoke College for her commitment to softball. At Roanoke, she will compete at the D3 level.

Q. What is your full name?

A. Madison Cooke.

Q. What Grade are you in?

A. 12th grade.

Q. Where did you commit to for college?

A. I committed to Roanoke College.

Q. How long have you been playing your sport for?

A. I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old.

Q. What has your athletic career looked like? 

A. I started playing house softball when I was around 5 then tried out for my first travel team at about 9. I have been playing travel softball ever since and have played high school softball all four years.

Q. When did you decide that committing for a sport was something you wanted to do?

A. I didn’t fully decide that I wanted to play in college until around my sophomore year.

Q. Do you have a favorite memory from this sport?

A. I do have many memories of great plays and good hits, but some of my best memories are of the fun times that I had being able to play and travel with my teammates.

Q. What are you most looking forward to in college (sports or academics)?

A. I am really looking forward to meeting new people at the school and on the team.
